HSRP: CONCEPT: REDUNDANCY OR LOAD SHARING IN MULTIPLE VLAN

Given:

One  Standby group created Group 1

Two SVI’s created for both VLAN 100 & 200

Two standby group VIP’s created for each VLAN or SVI

Requirement:

VLAN 100 data (Host A & Host B) must pass from R1 or R1 has to be made Active for VLAN 100.

VLAN 200 data (Host C) must pass from R2 or R2 has to be made active for VLAN 200

Configuration:

1. First of all, for every VLAN SVI is created

2. Secondly, configuration for HSRP will not be done on physical interfaces f0/0 on R1, as done earlier

Here, in case of Multiple VLAN’s, Configuration for HSRP will be done on SVI interfaces created above
