HSRP: RUNNING ON TWO ROUTERS – SCENARIO 1

SCENARIO

Environment is Remote Location in a Enterprise Network

We have a Location at Tempe, with two CPE(Customer Premises Equipment) router at the location

On these two Routers, we have to run HSRP, Making one as Active for all VLAN’s and one as Standby for all VLAN’s

Go ahead and check out the configuration with conclusion at the end to understand, How things are working ?

CONCLUSION

1. We have configured three interfaces of CPE routers in the Standby Group 1

Interfaces are Gi0/1, Gi0/2.116, Gi0/2.132

Their Interface IP address belongs to different subnets(normal behaviour of router)

2. For Group 1, we are using three standby VIP’s for running HSRP corresponding to three different subnets for three interfaces of router

3. By modifying priority, we have made CPE router 1 as Primary for all the Three Subnet or VLAN’s present here

To make the things more Clear, Make out  the Logical  Diagram using the configuration  ….. Things will be pretty clear ..
