1. In OSPF, in Broadcast network type, if all the routers are added with priority=0, then what will happen, will the routers make adjacency or not ?

8. Is there any benefit of enabling tracking on ethernet interface, in HSRP ?

DATE: 03-12-14, ORANGE INTERVIEW

9. In HSRP, there are two members, A & B, A is active. As per STP, B is the root bridge. Both are conflicting with each other, then will the traffic flow or not, if yes, what will be the direction of traffic flow ?

DATE: 03-12-14, TECH MAHINDRA INTERVIEW

10. In your network, how the internet & intranet traffic is flowing in terms of design. Explain ?

DATE: 03-12-14, TECH MAHINDRA INTERVIEW

11. If a server is connected to the switch, users are not able to access application hosted on server. What will be the approach to troubleshoot ?

DATE: 03-12-14,  ORANGE INTERVIEW

12. In OSPF, what is forwarding address ? Is it present in LSA-1 packet in communication ?

DATE: 03-12-14, TECH MAHINDRA INTERVIEW

13. In VTP, we have two member switches,

one switch is in server mode with revision number=x,

Another switch is in client mode with revision number= x + 10,

which switch will override the vlan details of another or nothing will happen ?

DATE: 11-12-14, TECH MAHINDRA PUNE

17. What kind of authentication you are using in your wireless network.

case 1: Between user & lap

case 2: Between lap & wlc

DATE: 11-12-14, TECH MAHINDRA PUNE

18. Between lap & wlc, for authentication two options are there,

one option is internal authorization using certificates &

another option is using radius server. which one is preferred ?

What is the meaning of symbol ‘r’?
Explain some scenario for illustration ?

DATE: 18-12-14, CISCO

20. We have the MAC address to uniquely identify the network components ?
Then, why we need the IP address for identification ?
What is the logic ?

  1. 6. Why default route is required in OSPF stub areas ?

Stub area block LSA type 4 and 5 so in order to reach those routes default route is used.

      1. In OSPF stub area config , idea behind is to not load the area from where there is no road to other routes so it would be better to create a default route to reach OSPF backbone via ABR for the stub area routers .

  2. 7. In OSPF, why E1 routes are preferred over E2 routes ? What is the logic ?

E2 routes have cost of 20 which doesnt change while travelling through the path so it doesnt give the actual distance/cost to the destination. While E1 routes show the actual distance /cost to the destination, thats why E1 gets preference over E2

    1. That’s true, E1 gives the exact cost OR,
simply we always prefer more specific option to reach destination,
similar to the concept we select more specific route to reach destination.

    2. E1 :Cost of the route as it passes through the autonomous system
E2 : Cost of route remains same irrespective of autonomous system

E1>E2 because E1 routes have multiple exit path rather than E2 routes have single exit point to outside world (internet /IGP)

Are you sure of E2 routes have cost of 20 ?
